Oh?! Is Inoya going? (part 2) Line design

Industry UpdatesJan 13, 2025

Hello. I'm Igaya I'm aiming to post five blogs by the end of the year, and this is my second article. This time, I'd like to write about the time when I was in charge of wiring design.

What is conductor design anyway?

Igaya was put in charge of guiding design, but he didn't know anything about it. Even though he had been involved in coding web pages, he had never paid any attention to guiding design, which is an upstream process, so he was like, "What is that, is it good?" It was the

first time he had heard the term, and he didn't know what to do first, so he decided to look into it. As he looked into it, he found things like routes set up on a website , how you expect visitors to move around on a website, and how to guide visitors to a destination . Hmm, so it's like making a simple map on a website! Let's give it a go! Igaya started making it with a simple idea. (At this point, he still hadn't realized the importance of guiding design...)

Let's actually create a wiring design!

For now, the flow design I made was reviewed for the first time by Director Panda, who is a former web director. cloco is a contract development company, but we also have many professionals who can consider upstream processes such as flow design. Igaya confidently puts the document I made on the screen and the review begins. Director Panda: "Let's see." Director Panda: "... " Igaya: "What do you think? (Excited!)" Director Panda: "...? Is that all?" Director Panda: "Huh?" Director Panda: "Huh?"

After that, Director Panda carefully instructed me on what the flow design was for and what was missing, and I finally realized the importance of flow design. I also looked into whether there were any other things I needed to consider, and repeatedly brushed it up, and finally went to the final review. I decided to try it out and make any necessary changes as necessary, and it was completed.

Igaya realized the importance of wiring design

When creating a guiding design, it is important to think about where you want visitors to the site to end up. It may be difficult to actually get there, but it is also important to check the results, and for that, analytical indicators must be considered. The above is more of a planner's perspective, but from a developer's perspective, it is necessary to think about how to prevent visitors from abandoning the guiding design decided in the upstream process. To do this, it is necessary to consider usability, such as whether to open a blog post in a separate tab when transitioning to another site, or whether to transition. I think that by combining the perspectives of the planner and developer and exchanging opinions with each other, something good will be created.

This time, it was completed here, but according to Director Panda, "there is another stage of guiding design according to the attributes of the target"! (※ This is a very important test ※) It was Igaya who vowed to try another stage of guiding design once the quality of the blog content is on track!

This time, Igaya realized the importance of flow design, but that's just a small part of what the planning side needs to consider. This is a blog project that I've been working on with Keroppi and Retsushi, with each dividing up the work. Next time, I'd like to talk about the process sheet that Retsushi was the main creator of, and since I was also involved, I'd like to talk about that.

Is Igaya really going to be able to do it?
